Project Background:
We were connected with PIRS to produce a series of interview-style videos for as part of a mental health awareness campaign regarding women immigrating to Canada.

The Problem
PIRS wanted to find a way to address the challenges experienced by immigrant women in Canada. As an organization, their goal is to provide helpful resources and a sense of community to these women, who often feel disconnected upon arriving in their new home.
PIRS decided that they needed to raise awareness about the mental health struggles commonly faced by immigrants during this transition. To do so, they needed to find a video production company that could be trusted to handle the sensitive nature of this project and deliver the stories effectively.
The Approach
The approach was to give a platform to a select number of organization members who had faced their own unique challenges after immigrating to Canada. We highlighted stories of women with diverse experiences, but all of whom had faced strains on their mental health as they worked to start their lives in a new culture.
Visually, we proposed using a monotone, non-distracting backdrop to really draw focus on the women and their stories. The goal was to empower others and provide a sense of community by spreading awareness about the mental health struggles commonly experienced during such a major change.
The Result
We delivered five videos showcasing five individual stories. These video assets will be a useful tool for years to come in reaching and empowering women in similar situations who are searching for resources and community.
